Twenty20 Founder: “Let Twenty20 be a Curtain Raiser; Don’t Overdo It”

It’s coming from the man behind the venture. Stuart Robertson does not want to see an overkill of the game he founded to help sagging audiences.
Robertson brought into being the Twenty20 game while working with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in a bid to draw spectators back to the stadium and he does not see why Twenty20 needs to become larger than the game itself.
Robertson is against a Twenty20 overkill, stating while it would best suit the purposes of a curtain raiser to an important series, the best possible way Twenty20 can serve would be in the domestic circuit, especially in countries such as the USA and China where building a base for cricket spectators is the need of the hour.
But don’t Lalit Modi or anyone else is listening as IPL looks to expand to have 94 matches in IPL 4.
