This must come as something of a shock for someone from the Indian sub continent. But the Pakistan coach had a simialr experience when his request was turned down by the curator at Lord’s.
Waqar Younis wanted spin friendly pitches for the “home” series against Australia in England. However, the curator has turned down the request with the additional information that nto even the England captain could have a say in pitch matters on home turf.
Pakistan have been unable to host their series at home with the volatile situation in the country and Australia’s reluctance to tour Pakistan. As a result, the England and Wales Cricket Board ( ECB ) offered to host the series between the two countries. Waqar’s attempts to make the series more homely though have received a setback.
